Home Fixers Trades and Professionals Directory Membership Terms and Conditions

By completing your online payment, you (“Member”) agree to the terms and conditions outlined below for the Home Fixers Club Handyman Membership with Home Fixers Ltd. (“Company”).

Membership Term: 1 Year from the Effective Date, renewing annually

1. Membership Plan and Benefits

Plan: Homeowner Club Handyman Membership
Cost: $1,200/year
Included Benefits:

  • 10 Hours of Handyman Services per Year

    • General repairs, maintenance, and minor home improvements, including tasks like fixing doors, windows, basic plumbing, and light electrical work.

    • Materials for repairs are billed separately. Unused hours do not carry over to the next year.

  • Seasonal Checkups and Maintenance

    • Spring (April-May): Gutter cleaning, roof inspection, HVAC prep, deck/patio cleaning, and more.

    • Fall (October-November): Gutter cleaning, furnace prep, roof/chimney inspection, outdoor faucet winterization, and more.

    • Scope of Checkups: Visual, non-invasive inspections covering accessible areas only.

2. Payment Terms

  • Annual Billing: $1,188 CAD + HST is billed upon signing up and will renew annually on the Effective Date.

  • Accepted Payment Methods: Credit card, debit card, E-Transfer, Check, and direct deposit.

  • Auto-Renewal: The membership will automatically renew unless canceled prior to the renewal date. A renewal reminder is sent 30 days before renewal.

3. Service Guidelines

  • Handyman Services

    • Members receive 10 hours of handyman services annually, covering non-specialized tasks. Schedule services via the Member Portal. A 24-hour notice is required for cancellations.

    • Tasks beyond included hours or involving additional materials require Member approval and are billed separately.

  • Seasonal Checkups and Maintenance

    • Scheduled in Spring (April-May) and Fall (October-November), with notifications for convenient scheduling.

    • Checkups are visual and non-invasive; additional repairs identified during checkups may require a separate work order with Member approval.

4. Member Responsibilities

  • Access: The Member agrees to provide safe access to all areas needing maintenance or repair.

  • Approval of Additional Work: Any work beyond included services requires approval and may incur additional charges.

  • Timely Payment: The Member agrees to pay the annual fee and any additional costs promptly.

5. Termination Policy

  • Voluntary Termination: Members may terminate at any time by providing written notice. No refunds are issued for the remaining term.

  • Involuntary Termination: Home Fixers may terminate without notice if the Member fails to comply with terms or misses payments. No refunds will be provided.

6. Limitation of Liability

  • Service Quality: Home Fixers is not liable for issues due to pre-existing conditions or areas not covered by Checkups. Results are not guaranteed.

  • Material Costs: Members are responsible for costs of all materials used.

  • Service Interruption: Home Fixers is not liable for service interruptions due to platform maintenance or other events.

7. Dispute Resolution

  • Arbitration: Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration under Ontario, Canada’s laws.

  • Governing Law: This agreement is governed by Ontario, Canada’s laws.

8. Privacy and Data Use

  • Data Collection: Home Fixers will handle your data per its Privacy Policy. By accepting this agreement, you consent to this data use.

  • Data Security: Home Fixers takes measures to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

Acceptance of Terms

  • By completing your payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions. Membership is contingent upon compliance with these terms, and failure to do so may result in suspension or termination of Membership privileges.

Home Fixers Ltd. Trades and Professionals Directory Membership Terms and Conditions

1. Membership Plans and Benefits

  • Basic Plan (Free):

    • Listing in the Home Fixers directory.

    • Display of contact information (phone number and email).

  • Standard Plan ($25/month or $250/year):

    • Includes all benefits of the Basic Plan.

    • Display of 1 video and up to 10 pictures.

    • Enhanced visibility in the directory.

  • Premium Plan ($50/month or $500/year):

    • Includes all benefits of the Standard Plan.

    • Display of up to 3 videos, 20 pictures, website URL, and social media links.

    • Verified Badge for added credibility.

2. Payment Terms

  • Billing:
    Membership fees are billed either monthly or annually, starting from the Effective Date.

  • Renewal:
    Memberships renew automatically on a monthly or annual basis, with a reminder sent 30 days before renewal.

  • Cancellation:
    Members may cancel their membership at any time via their account dashboard. Cancellations will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

3. Content Guidelines

  • Content Standards:
    All content uploaded by members must comply with Home Fixers' content guidelines and must be accurate and appropriate.

  • Content Rights:
    By submitting content, members confirm that they own the content and grant Home Fixers a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute it on the platform.

4. Member Responsibilities

  • Accuracy:
    Members are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all information in their directory listing.

  • Compliance:
    Members agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations and ensure they have the right to upload and distribute any content provided.

5. Termination and Refunds

  • Voluntary Termination:
    Members can terminate their membership via the dashboard. Cancellations will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. No refunds will be provided for early cancellation.

  • Involuntary Termination:
    Home Fixers reserves the right to terminate a member’s account in the event of a breach of these terms or failure to comply with Home Fixers' guidelines. No refunds will be provided for involuntary terminations.

6. Liability Limitations

  • Service Quality:
    Home Fixers makes no guarantees regarding the quantity or quality of leads or business opportunities generated through the directory.

  • Service Interruptions:
    Home Fixers is not liable for interruptions or unavailability of the service due to scheduled maintenance, technical issues, or other unforeseen circumstances.

  • Content Liability:
    Members are solely responsible for ensuring the legality, accuracy, and appropriateness of their content. Home Fixers will not be held liable for any claims related to content uploaded by members.

7. Dispute Resolution

  • Arbitration:
    Any disputes arising from or related to these terms will be resolved through binding arbitration, conducted in Ontario, Canada.

  • Governing Law:
    These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada

8. Changes to Terms

Home Fixers reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. Members will be notified of significant changes via email or through their account dashboard. Continued use of the services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Privacy and Data Protection

  • Data Usage:
    By signing up for a membership, members consent to Home Fixers' use of their personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

  • Data Security:
    Home Fixers implements reasonable measures to protect member data, but cannot guarantee absolute security against breaches or unauthorized access.
